Start of Something New

Why is it that the moment I read the title, I think of High School Musical. I guess that's the little kid in me but nonetheless that's what this is, the start of something new, something exciting and just like when you try anything new for the first time it can be scary, terrifying even. Why? Because you're getting ready to take a leap of faith into the unknown not sure whats on the other side waiting for you. If you were to ask me what my favourite dance move is I would say jetes and leaps because they make me feel free for just that still moment in time but this reveals a whole new package of emotions, hell yeah I'm scared but I'm also really excited and thrilled to see what might come of it. The most important thing is to own up to it, whatever it is your feeling, you are in control of that!! You have the ability to transform your thoughts into positive magical beams of light that will help to carve the way out. I remember three years ago when I was in year 11 representing my school at a youth and leadership program. I entered my name because something about the event sparked an interest in me, it was an impulse decision that I never gave a second thought.. I look back now at that experience and feel an abundance of gratitude because from it came growth, opportunities that I took hold of and made mine. I'm so glad I did! I never thought that any of that was possible, I left it up to the universe, it spoke loud and clearly and I listened. At that time my confidence was just beginning to shine through because for the first time in a while I felt important. I felt like I mattered and now I truly believe that. Its times like these where my mean girl whispers doubtful messages, tricking me into thinking it isn't possible or that I won't achieve anything. I choose to fight back, to not give into the negative thoughts. There is no such thing as impossible, the word itself says I'M POSSIBLE. The only limitations are the ones we create for ourself, so take a risk to step out of it and imagine the possibilities.
